Senior account director Allison Leggett has been active as a communications and marketing professional for over twenty years and has served as a core team member for E. Boineau & Company since 2005. She is experienced in all phases of marketing and public relations planning and implementation.

After serving in several positions in the Charleston, S.C., area, Allison worked as a freelance writer and marketing consultant for ten years. Her broad list of clients included Kiawah Island Resort, The Medical University of South Carolina, Peter Wertimer, Inc., Roper Hospital, The Levin Company, Dr. Ann Kulze and Seacoast Church. During this time, she also served as Interim Community Services Specialist for the Roper Health System marketing department.

Prior to pursuing independent work, Allison served for four years as the media and marketing director for the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition and Charleston Maritime Festival. Southeastern Wildlife Exposition annually draws over 40,000 visitors to the Charleston, S.C., area, and is one of the largest single sources of visitor income in the Charleston community.

During her tenure, the exposition increased attendance, reduced marketing expenses and saw an increase in the expenditure per visitor. Specific efforts focused on market research to better target marketing and maximize community support. The Charleston Maritime Festival was initiated during her tenure with the organization, and she was instrumental in the initial research and planning of the event, which coincided with the start of the BOC Challenge (now known as the Around Alone race) in Charleston.

Prior to this, Allison served as marketing services manager for Kiawah Resort Associates, the owner and developer of Kiawah Island. She was associated with Kiawah during the purchase and renovation of the island and worked with a total recasting of the marketing effort for the island. This included the direction of market research, coordination of all on-island collateral, public relations initiatives and special event planning.

Additionally, Allison worked as a market research associate for Permar & Ravenel, a national real estate consulting firm specializing in resort and real estate developments. In her position, she conducted market research in both survey format and through comparable site assessment. She collaborated on feasibility studies for clients such as Kiawah Resort Associates, Palmetto Dunes, Amelia Island Plantation and Wild Dunes Resort.

Allison earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from the Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, with a major in public relations and minor in business administration. She is actively involved in her community, having served as president of The Junior League of Charleston and as a founding board member of Charleston Clefts Inc., an organization started to provide support to families of children born with a cleft lip and palate in the Tri-County area.

Melissa Pluta Parker, senior account executive, joined the team in 2006 and has eight years of combined editorial and marketing experience. Most recently, Melissa served as editor of Yemassee, the literary journal at the University of South Carolina, and prior to that, taught as an adjunct English instructor at the College of Charleston, where she also served as a writing lab consultant in the College’s Writing Lab. She previously worked as an assistant editor for SC Clips, a subscription-based online news service, and as editorial and marketing assistant at The Nautical & Aviation Publishing Company in Mount Pleasant. In this role, she successfully promoted new titles, edited manuscripts for publication, scheduled book signings, and arranged radio and television interviews with authors.

Melissa, who holds a Master of Arts degree in English from the College of Charleston, is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at the University of South Carolina. Prior to undertaking graduate studies, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College, where she majored in English and minored in Mass Media Communications and Dance.

Tiffany Jonas, senior graphic designer and creative copywriter, is an accomplished writer and graphic designer, and a 1994 honors graduate of a top-three journalism school. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree in advertising, magna cum laude, from the Missouri School of Journalism along with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and has taken coursework toward a Masters in Business Administration. She is a member of Mensa, an organization for those who have scored in the top two percent of the population on a standardized intelligence test, and has been the two-time recipient of an eleven-state award for design, honored at the November 2005 and November 2006 Chicago Book & Media Shows.
